DJI’s Air 2S release date was April 2021, but it is still the best choice for many content creators. DJI mini 3 pro was Released on 10 May 2022, and the mini 3 non pro yet to launch soon. This mini 3 pro is the 1st mini-series drone with three obstacle sensors with more robust features than its previous mini 2.  

Before the release of this mini 3 pro the air 2s was the definite option for different content creators, but after this mini 3 release, it is tough to choose between them. Both these devices are the best mini-size drones which are mega capable and have major upgradation in features.

DJI mini 3 pro arrives with a portable, ultra-light design weighing 249 grams. Additionally, the folded arms measure 145×90×62 mm in dimension, and the unfolded arms measure 171×245×62 mm in size.  

For the air 2s, the folded arms measure 180×97×77 mm in dimension. In comparison, the unfolded arms measure 183×253×77 mm in size, weighing 595grams.

Air 2s offers a maximum flight time of 31 minutes and a hovering time of 30 minutes, but in practice, you will get around 26-27 mins. In addition, this drone arrives with an ascent speed of 6 m/s and a max speed of 19 m/s. The device allows a maximum tilt angle of 35° with a top pitch of 250°/ s.

The forward sensor has a 72° horizontal and 58° vertical field of view, and the backward sensor has a 57° horizontal and 44° vertical field of view. On the contrary, the Mini 3 Pro has a forward sensing system at 0.39- 25 m range with a 106° horizontal field of view and 90° vertical. In addition, it has a backward sensor system ranging between 0.36- 23.4 m with a horizontal 58° field of view and a 73° vertical field of view. The downward sensor ranges from 0.15- 9m with 87.6° left/ right and 104.8° forward/ backward.  

Max Transmission Distance is the same for both drones, which is 12 km FCC. The mini 3 pro li-ion battery is used, and for air 2s, battery technology is lipo.  

The Price for the Air 2s is $999, and the mini 3 pro is $759, so this price difference can be the deciding factor for many peoples. If you want a drone with premium features without restriction, go for the mini 3 pro. But if you want a more premium professional drone, go for the DJI air 2s.
